50 Years of vietnamese American Community building in Illinois
In partnership with the Vietnamese Association of Illinois, this short film commemorates the 50th Anniversary since the Fall of Saigon, the largest refugee migration in American history, and tells the story of how Chicago's Little Vietnam came to be.
Featuring eight members of the community, from Vietnam War veterans and refugees to today's youth leaders, this story explores both resilience and joy, through collective tenacity, mutual aid, and solidarity.
This project premiered on Saturday, May 3 2025 at the 50 Years of Vietnamese American Community Building Convening at St. Augustine College.
